This game stays pretty true to most of the Tales of... games. The characters are compelling and well thought out, the party has nice balance and has the wonderful feature of allowing the player to choose who they play the game as as characters are acquired.
The animation takes some getting use to, but the exaggerated animations and the over-all light heartedness of the game is one of it's major charm points. Any fan of the Tales series would not be let down by this addition.
